2002 Whooping Crane Migration

November 12, 2002

 

Day 31: Washington County, Kentucky - All 16 whooping cranes, reunited as a flock yesterday, took off together shortly before 8:00 a.m. this morning from Jennings County, Indiana. This flight was their longest yet; they covered 90 miles in just under two hours. Washington County, Kentucky is the 11th stop so far on their migration to Florida. The cumulative distance they've traveled is 522.5 miles.
