2002 Whooping Crane Migration

October 27 , 2002

 

Day 15: LaSalle County, IL -The whooping cranes and pilots flew again today! Thirteen cranes left Ogle County and flew 47.9 miles to the next stop in Lasalle County, Illinois. Three cranes returned to their pen during the flight and were crated to the fifth stop. The cumulative distance traveled in the migration is now 187.6 miles.
