2002 Whooping Crane Migration

October 26 , 2002

 

Day 14: Ogle County, IL - The winds were finally calm enough for the whooping cranes to fly another leg of their journey. Twelve cranes flew the entire distance of 47.9 miles. Early in the flight, four cranes returned to the pen in Green County, Wisconsin. Those cranes were trucked to the new stop in Ogle County, Illinois.
