Archives2001 Fall Whooping Crane Migration
Gilchrest County, Florida - Thursday Nov. 29, 2001 The whooping cranes were able to fly this morning. They were in the air for 41 minutes and flew 20 miles. It was a beautiful morning with light fog and sunny skies. The birds and migration team are now about 60 miles from Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge. The expected arrival date continues to be Saturday, Dec. 1.
